Stewart Cross
"You can't measure what's inside a man's heart." - Joe Rogan

Stewart Earl Cross, 47, of Snook, TX, passed away at Houston Methodist Hospital on February 2, 2025, after a lengthy fight against heart disease. Stewart was born on October 26, 1977, in Webster, TX, to Eugene Cross and Barbara Buckingham. After graduating from Langham Creek High School, he worked various jobs in the construction field, eventually rising to management. He met the love of his life, Amanda, in 2018, and they were married on March 27, 2021. Perhaps one of his most proud roles was dad. A devoted and supportive bonus dad, Madelynn captured a huge portion of his heart. In July 2020, Stewart's lifelong dream was realized. His son Chase was born. In his words, "I have my very own action figure." Being a dad came naturally to Stewart, and he always made sure Madelynn and Chase were his priority.

Over the last few years, Stewart developed a homestead and spent many days fishing with his son at his pond. He loved the outdoors and always dreamed of living the life he had built with Amanda. Although his illness placed hardships on him, he made the most of his days with his family. Stewart is survived by his wife, Amanda; two children, Madelynn Schrader and Chase Cross; his parents, Eugene Cross and Barbara & Don Woods; sister, Barbara and Joe Gray; nephews, Jordyn Lucario, Logan Lucario, and Peyton Railey; brother-in-law Adam & Melanie Kelm; niece and nephew, Audrey and Parker Kelm; and sister-in-law Alex Wright & Irving Romero.

The family will be holding an intimate celebration of life for Stewart later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards Chase's future and construction of a memorial at the Cross family homestead at https://gofund.me/2990fd77 . The family would also like to express its deepest gratitude to Dr. Carl Tong, Dr. Joyce Hnatek, the St. Joseph Regional Health ICU team, the Houston Methodist CVICU, and the Life Gift team.
