Norma Stella (Flores) Lantz, aged 64 of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 27th surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. Norma was known by all for her boundless kindness, thoughtfulness, and vibrant energy, always ensuring everyone felt welcome and involved.
Born in San Antonio, TX, Norma met the love of her life, Ryan Lantz, at Judson High School in Converse, TX, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with warmth and shared experiences. Together, Norma and Ryan embraced their passion for travel and enjoyed traveling the world with their extensive circle of friends, creating cherished memories along the way. Before settling in Flower Mound in 1988, Norma and Ryan lived in Silverdale, Washington, while Ryan was serving in the US Navy on the USS Michigan (SSBN 727G). Together they built lifelong friendships during those early years in the Navy.
In Flower Mound, Norma built a distinguished career with impactful contributions at Boeing Defense and Aerospace, then Safran, a Paris, France headquartered international aerospace and engineering company. Joining Boeing in 1989, she started as an administrative associate, and advanced into supervisory roles before she transitioned to Labinal/Safran Electrical & Power in 2003. At Safran she excelled in numerous roles including Program Manager, Operations Manager, and Sales & Marketing Manager, culminating in her appointment as Director of Sales & Marketing for ISA Division in 2008. In 2015 Norma completed a 2 year international assignment with Safran in Paris, France, before returning to North Texas as Executive Vice President of Airframer Sales and Marketing for Safran Helicopter Engines. Norma's passion for aerospace, enthusiastic personality, and genuine connections with colleagues and customers earned her widespread respect and admiration.
Norma's compassion extended beyond life, as an organ donor whose generous gift saved the lives of multiple individuals, and had a profound positive impact on many others.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Moses Flores and Juanita Ibarra, of San Antonio, Texas. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Ryan Lantz; her four sisters, Alice Guerra, Anna Marie Saville, Irma Tobias, and Bertha Gil; twelve nieces and nephews, seventeen grand nieces and nephews, and three great grand nieces and nephews. Norma will be profoundly missed, but her spirit, generosity, and joyful energy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
