Raymond (Pootsie) Sumner went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2023, just two days before his 68th birthday. He was born on May 27, 1955 in Hazard, Ky. He loved deer hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was truly remarkable with his bow and arrow. Raymond was a brick mason by trade. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be dearly missed. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Lenia Sumner, paternal grandparents Harlan and Nancy Sumner, maternal grandparents Lonnie and Vernie Smith, one sister Billy Jean Sumner, three brothers in law, Jerry Clark, Kenneth Rushing and Ronnie Hampton, and two nieces, Ladonna Clark and Cassie Clark. He is survived by five siblings, Shirley Stringfellow and husband Bobby of Mineola,Tx., Nancy Rushing of Valley View, Tx., William Sumner Jr. and wife Terri of Gainesville,Tx., Mary Roark of Ada, Oklahoma and Pamela Clark
of Sanger, Tx. Also one aunt, Sara Logan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial arrangements will be at a later date.
